about

This piece is from the album "The Gyuto Monks of Tibet: Sounds of Global Harmony" featuring the deep harmonic overtone chanting of the Gyuto monks with 2.1 shakuhachi performed by Anne Norman. While the monks chant the "Initiation Request to Yamantaka, Lord of Death and Protector of Life", Anne plays a traditional Japanese shakuhachi honkyoku meditation called "Tamuke" meaning Offering - usually an offering for the dead.
